HP paper is "the same as" HPR?

HP paper is "the same as" HPR?

2009-01-26 by djon43

A big paper retailer said HP is the only company selling HPR in sheets
(tho its still available as HPR in rolls from that retailer and
elsewhere).

1) do you think that's true?

2) which HP sheet paper is the same as HPR? Which HP product name?

3) Side issue: do you prefer HPR to Entrada, and why?

HPR does shed coating in printers and I don't think Entrada does, but
it may be that HPR has more Dmax (I don't measure so I don't know).

In UK at least it is complete b*ll*cks. Here's my usual supplier's page
full of HPR sheet sizes http://www.squidtechnology.com/hfa_pr308.htm

HP Hahnemuhle Smooth Fine Art Paper is near as dammit identical as far as
I can tell, aside from the 265g/m base (vs 308gsm for HPR). Some claim it
is optimised for HP pigment inks and that the surface is smoother, but I
use both it and Hahnemuhle Photo Rag and have never noticed any difference
greater than I've seen between different batches of HPR.
