Hi Mike,
yes, your points are undoubtedly correct - but this is a budget monitor at less than a sixth of the price of the Eizo.

Many of us don't have the turnover to afford a self-calibrating monitor, so have to compromise. As an entry-level monitor, the Dell seems to be the best specified one at the moment. 

If anyone else can suggest a better alternative I'd be interested to hear about it.

We have several Samsung 22 inch widescreen monitors here that are
really nice. I have not put a profiler to them but they produce great
images. They are the 226BW which has been replaced by a different
model. Really nice for the under $300 range of monitor.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, I haven't followed the entire thread.

For high end I still want a Cintiq so I can draw on it, even if
ultimate image quality is less because of the digitizer/protective
cover/whatever-it-is on top of the display.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
