Part-time CIS?

Part-time CIS?

2009-02-25 by Richard Smallfield

Hi,
I wondered if it's feasible to remove a CIS with MIS/Cone BW inks for occasional OEM UC printing?

thanks
Richard

Realistically, no. You would need to flush the heads each time you
changed the ink sets to make sure you were getting "pure" inks onto
paper. Some companies suggest that you can do this, but it is not
something that I would recommend because it is a lot of work and mess.
And if you are using Epson inks, you would soon flush more money from
the heads than it would cost to buy a color printer.

Technically, yes you can do this if the proper flushing is performed.
