Problem with R2400 -Ink Unavailable

Problem with R2400 -Ink Unavailable

2009-03-03 by Guru Guhan Gunaratnam

Hello,

I¹ve been using an R2400 happily with MIS inks for the last couple ye ars.
I have been away for six months (printer hasn¹t been being used)... And I
have just finished refilling and resetting all my carts. For some reason,
the red light above the yellow cart wont go off. I have reset the chips
(got a green light) and re-inserted the cart. The problem persists and I
have done it a number of times. I can¹t perform a head cleaning/ alignment
because the driver says the cart is empty.

The chip reader on the printer looks clean (no ink or debris on it), but I
have not attempted to clean it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Yep, I had one of those. It's a defective chip and needs replacing.

Yep, drove me nuts too. I even got the light to go off then, after
cleaning, it came on again.

I had saved a bunch of my old Epson carts and pulled the chip off the
corresponding cart. Now no more nag about genuine Epson carts.
