print back stamping

print back stamping

2009-03-24 by Tyler Boley

I have silver prints by artists who would use a stamp on the back of their prints, something unique to them, with an image ID, neg # or whatever info they wanted penciled in.
Is there a "stamp" ink, like used in an ink pad, that could be considered to have good longevity, and also not outgass anything harmful to our prints as it dries?

Dear Tyler,

I use trodat black ink, a roller stamp pad ink,
made by Trodat GmbH.

This ink dries slowly, and is non toxic...
