Off topic: Cleaning, etc on my Nikon gear

2009-04-28 by Arthur Fink

I'd like to have somebody go over some of my Nikon gear, clean,
adjust, etc. If you've had particular good or bad experiences with
service organizations or people, I'd like to hear about it -- off
list, as this question is off topic.

The gear that I want looked at right away includes:
* D200 (well used)
* 17-55 f2.8 lens (lightly used -- may not need anything)
* 70-200 f2.8 lens (sometimes doesn't find focus, and wonder whether
   it finds the right focus)

I'm interested in quality of work, but also quality of communication,
price, turnaround, whether NPS membership affects turnaround or
price, and anything else that you'd care to offer.

I think membership in NPS gets you priority but it still might be
weeks to get the work done, lots of parts are not stocked like the old
days, I am sure it is an accounting thing. NPS does offer loaners. I
have always have Nikon service all my equipment and they do a great
job, never needed a redo.

I've used them personally...excellent "35mm" repair. Didn't have good luck with them at large format shutter repair.
