Alan,

You're going to love the 2450! I have my new web pages done and am testing
for bugs. I would like to have a sample of a scan of one of my negs from a
drum scan to compare with the 2450 but so-far I haven't been able to mooch
one. :-)

I think there are only a couple things to consider with forking out big
bucks for one lousy scan and that is: will the prints you sell pay for it
and is the image extra sharp in the first place? Will an image not made on a
tripod benefit from a 2000+ DPI scan? Much 35mm work is not. I'd pay quite a
bit to see a truly noticeable improvement in a print of one of my pan negs
made with a high-end scanner. I wager that the printer/scanner software is
more of a factor anyhow.
