It's probably irrelevant, but for my 1160, instead of a CFS I have a
CIS. Which I just installed and am still purging and testing with the
new MIS VM Sepia-Neutral inkset. But since the cartridges were first
filled, the black ink has been lower in its bottle than the other
inks in their bottles. I assume that at least in the beginning that
was because the black cartridge holds more ink than the individual
color tanks.
Among my other S-N inks, the Magenta is lower, but not by nearly as much.
Whether the black ink is sinking faster is of course another
question. And I can't tell. But I would think so because I print some
amount of stuff off the web, etc., which is all or nearly all black.
Probably I should have ordered a second bottle of black at the
outset. Maybe it's cheaper in pints if the shelf life isn't a
problem. Is it easier to pour out of one size than the other? Do we
know what the shelf life of the ink is?
