PA Gen. Alise vs. H. Photo Rag?

PA Gen. Alise vs. H. Photo Rag?

2009-12-11 by kwalsh74

Doing some searching here and on google as I'm getting ready to spin up the printer after a hiatus I saw the new Premier Art Generations Alise was sporting some impressive Dmax. I've used PA Matte BW 210 (has OBA) and the Epson PA Scrapbook (like PA Hot Press 205, no OBA) with Eboni (3MK and 3MK-Y) in the past. I was thinking of ponying up and trying the "gold standard" this time around with the H. Photo Rag 308. But the Alise looks like a winner at half the price...

Anyone have experience, thoughts or insight on how HPR and PA Alise compare before I open my wallet?

Thanks,

Ken

I don't know anything about your ink set, but if it has a tendency to respond in hue dramatically to different coatings, you'll see a bit less warmth than HPR. Otherwise, for color, or if you see none of the above, you give up very little if anything. Good paper.
