Bought the Epson 1400

Bought the Epson 1400

2010-02-15 by R Craig Blackman

Paul, et al;
My 1400 is set up and I have a couple of questions.
1. The table which supports the print is not completely still; ie, when printing, the printer has a slight rock to it.
Is it critical that the printer not move or the support not move?

2. As suggested, I loaded the orig. color cartridges emsuring that the printer did and would work properly. I want to replace the ink with the MIS 1400 and get on with my B&W print life.
IS it essential that I wash out the color inks before installing?
Thanks in advance for any input.

Movement of the table should be no problem.

It is recommnended that the OEM Claria inks be rinsed out, but it may not make any difference. MIS says the Eboni-6 base is not compatible with the Epson UltraChrome inks, but I'm not sure about Claria. I have heard of no particular problem with the other MIS inks or the C6 base. So, I have no 100% answer for you here.

Paul, thanks for the quick response. I will let you know how the ink works out after a few days.

One more question: Is there significance difference between MIS 1400 ink and Jon Cone's Piezography K6 and/or the output of each.
Thanks
Craig
