MIS-VM and 1290 & 1280 drivers!

Hi, Warning????? I have had a wonderful time with Pauls VM. I have a 1290 (not a1280) but have used the 1280 drivers as suggested in this forum and they worked great. My writer started some weaks ago not to give clean nozzelpatterns and it got worse...I did all the windex - waiting - nozzelclening - waiting - new carts from Epson etc etc ... suddenly it printer gave up! "General Fault". Called Epson and they gave me a trick (after begging - not mensioned anywhere else (but close to) to make a "General Reset" of the printer. However it didn't help. Got a phonecall today from there servicedeparment - two things came up! 1/ Why does the printer has so much ink in it (Of cause my nozzelcleaning I know) - I said "dont no -but have had trouble a long time with the nozzelpatterns - so I answered true and crossed my..... 2/ Did I use a wrong driver - they ment the 1280 driver - (My answer was "I don't know have downloaded the latest from Epson! So please think for yourself - the second question was scarry..... It might be so that the 1280 driver is not good for the 1290 in the long term?? Or could it be the resettingprogram for the chips?? Just as a warning - I might not get my 1290 back repared - "outside warrenty!" Tonight I'll pray for my 1290! Anyway - I'll buy a new one - can't be without it! Anyone having the VM/1290 curves for the Epson 1290 driver on work? Would like to continue with it. Miss X Germany
