(thanks also to shawn at analoguehaven for his quick response, too !)
i`ve spent a few more hours with the vcf running in a patch and playing  with 
its various controls. i like the overall sound but, and this is just me, i  
know, i wish there was a bit more "range" to the resonance control before  
self-oscillation begins.
