CS-80 mode for A-198 or R2M Ribboncontroller

2006-06-01 by Florian Anwander

Hi,

as far as I remember the ribbon controller of the Yamaha CS-80 works
that way, that it takes the position, where you touch the ribbon the
first time, as the center (=0 Volt) and if you move then your finger it
produces voltages which are an offset to this center.

Now I am looking for a possibility ro reproduce this with the R2M or
A-198 (plus other modules) respective.

On the R2M controlling a MIDI synth it would be quite simple, if the
software would not send the NoteOn info.
Also I could take a MIDI-filter box which suppresses note commands and
then feed this "notefree" MIDI to a MIDI2CV interface.

But how to do it with an A-198?

Florian
