The problem is not the cable length but the impedance matching ! Have you ever try to plug a bass or a guitar directly into a "line in" soundcard or a mixing console ??? The song is awful because the output impedance of these intruments is very hight (Mega Ohm) ! Even with a 2 or 3 meter cable length ! And it drops lot of frequencys :-( But with a DI witch low down the impedance the sound become cleaner and beautiful. So, the output impedance of a A-100 VCA or mixer seem's to be 10Kohm, and it's pretty hight. I Think so that low down it with a DI can improve the sound quality of a A-100 patch. That is the question !
