We had some A-188-1 for repair with a similar fault (not working sockets of the small board). In all cases the reason were broken tracks near the jack sockets of the smaller pc board (i.e. the board with the 4 switches). We assume that the faults happened during transportation or module installation if the pc board is bended too much (e.g. because of too strong wrapping/pressure during the transportation or if the module is held with the two pc boards only during installation into the frame). If you are experienced with soldering I'd recommend to bride over the pcb tracks that lead away from the jack sockets (e.g. by connecting a wire between the jack socket pin and the pin of the next electronic part of the pcb track, usually a resistor). If you are not able to to this repair yourself please send the module to the dealer/representative where you purchase the device. For the new pc A-188-1 boards (from third series) we asked our manufacturer to use a thicker cooper for the pc boards to avoid such problems. Sorry for any troubles. Of course we try to avoid such problems but for new modules they may appear only after some weeks or months.
