It will be necessary to solder 2 wires to the existing A-138a/b.

I also think about to pick up Florians idea concerning a crossfade mixer.
I'm not yet sure if it will be realized as a expansion module for an
existing mixer A-138a/b or as a new module (A-138d ?). And we have to try
different circuits to find out the control behaviour (i.e. the crossfade
characteristics/response).
