Nothing is without its annoyances. You can buy a Doepfer and be annoyed by the odd transcient jack problem. You can buy a Synthesizers.com and be annoyed by the lack of variety and dumb blandness of some of the modules and the sheer scale. You can also buy a Blacet and be annoyed, for whatever reason, by the knob and jack arrangement and potential rare incompatibilities with other equipment; a Cwejman and be annoyed by the lack of multiples and extra attenuators; an AS and be annoyed by tuning the VCOs, etc.; a MOTM, Modcan, or Serge and be frustrated by the price. For me, Doepfer is the most interesting, most affordable, and most convenient modular, period. It can share a case with modules from AS, Analogue Solutions, Plan B, and others. It has the most extensive CV-processing processing, the widest range of filter types, the best price/function ratio in an analog sequencer, some of the very best thought-out module designs, and it sounds great. --Chuck > -----Original Message----- > From: Bakis Sirros [mailto:syrros@ath.forthnet.gr] > Sent: Friday, December 01, 2006 12:54 PM > To: analogue heaven > Subject: Re: [AH] Any reason not to go with Doepfer? > > i see no downside... > > Bakis Sirros - Parallel Worlds / Interconnected / Memory Geist > http://www.parallel-worlds-music.com > http://www.myspace.com/parallelworldsmusic > http://www.myspace.com/interconnectedmusic > http://www.shimarecords.co.uk > http://www.rubber.gr > [doepfer_a100] group owner > Athens - Greece > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <tsheets@saturn5.com> > To: <analogue@hyperreal.org> > Sent: Friday, December 01, 2006 6:48 PM > Subject: [AH] Any reason not to go with Doepfer? > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > I looknig into what kind of modular format to start investing in, and > > I think I am going to go with Doepfer.
