Doepfer

I'd wish to built an outboard "multiples" box.  I need more multiples 
(A-180 style), but my case space is already all occupied.  

If I'm building a box inside wich I install a few 1/8" jacks and linked 
them pin-to-pin... I should expect the same result as a A-180, right?  
Is there a limitation on how many jacks I can link before getting 
signal loss?  Is there measures I should take to make it safe (ground 
anything)?

My idea seems so simple, that I fear I'm missing something important.  
Looking closely at a A-180, I can't see anything else to it.
