Two of the wires of the ribbon cable that is used to connect A-160 and A-161
carry the clock and the reset signal for the A-161. They are connected to
clock and reset of the A-160 (in detail the order of the 10 wires is
GND/GND/GND/GND/NC/NC/CLOCK/RESET/+12V/+12V. The two NC wires are connected
to the inverted Clock and Reset of the A-160 but are not used in the A-161.
If you connect the Clock (and maybe the Reset) input of the A-161 to another
signal (e.g. /2, /4, /8 of the A-160) the A-161 may run at different
divisions. You may also add a socket but you have to pay attention that this
input would be not protected and a negative voltage will destroy the A-161 !
Normally the digital inputs of A-100 modules are protected against negative
voltages (transistor buffers).
