The transformers used in the NT12 sometimes generated a slight (mechanical) hum noise. Normally the problem can be solved by replacing the transformer. It is still available as a spare part. There first series of frames (before 2000) were eqipped with another type of mains inlet and had separate mains switch (not integrated into the mains inlet).
