thanks for those tips. i'd forgotten about the new 138's, couldn't find the sample and hold, 
and didn't know about the output on the comparator.

since the comparator also seems to me the best way to provide a shuffled clock, i'll 
probably go for that one, but i'm surprised that there is no dedicated offset module - 
something like 4HE with an input, output and a +/- knob that could regulate a constant 
output when nothing is connected to the input.

i'm new to the analogue world, but i use algorithms like that all the time when i'm 
designing software bits and pieces. i'm aware that the needs and priorities of analogue 
audio are sometimes very different, but does nobody miss such a "utility" module ?

the new 138's are of course a very good idea, but sometimes i'm going to need my mixers 
(if i had them) for mixing, and, as ever, space is an issue.

anyone want to split the price of a 129/3 four ways ?
