hello - 
yes, in my mixed-manufacturer modular i use both the bananalogue vcs and  
serge dsg`s. the vcs,other than the minor adaptations needed to make it 1/8",  
performs very well in comparison to the dsg`s. excellent env gen, vco, lfo,  
etc.. also works well with the rest of my doepfer modules, too.
you mentioned c.v. sweeps, the vcs does these long ascending / descending  
c.v.`s very well also.
