Doepfer

I'm hooking up my Velleman Panelscope with the A197-2 assembly kit and I had a question about wiring.

I've wired the +12V wire pair to pin SK3 which used to go to the red wire.  Now I want to remove the red and black wires.  Do I just chop them off?  It appears that there is a little white socket like thing that connects them to the board.  Is there a way to unplug this?  I don't want to force it and break anything.
