I designed such a module in the eighties called "String Phaser". But as the
BBDs were very expensive that time I used three phasers instead of BBDs to
generate the effect. But the modulation source was exactly the same:

One LFO which had available three triangle outputs with 120 degree phase
shift in between and a second (faster) LFO. The LFO signals were mixed to
obtain three control voltages to control the three phasers (or BBD modules
instead of the phasers).

The circuit is published in a hidden directory on our website
(.../history/string_lfo.gif) because somebody else was asking a few weeks
ago. We are about to scan all older documents (schematics,
user's/construction manuals, brochures/prospectus, price lists ...), little
by little and publish them in this directory. It would be no problem to rise
the string LFO from the death but I think it should have a little more
features that the old design (e.g. adjustable frequencies and depth for both
LFOs and maybe four instead of three outputs).
