glad to see someone else sees it :) but add the multiple to it to
distribute, say, an lfo signal, and you've got 18 units more in your
rack, where a reverse mixer would take 8.

i wonder if a little market research would make sense. dieter has more
or less single handedly created a new market for modular
synthesis/sound design, namely those people who, like myself, take
their (now affordable) modular rigs to every gig. no
roadies-and-huge-budget keith emerson stuff, or large studio
installations, just the modular equivalent of a les paul and 50w
marshall. with the introduction of the mini racks and adaptor, this
market is likely to expand even more - for the price of a decent fx
unit from electroharmonix etc. you could put a mini doepfer thing
together.

it stands to reason that such people have slightly different
priorities. is the difference between the a120 and a122 filters going
to have a significant effect on my gig ? unlikely. but small solutions
to small problems are paramount. the germans have a beautiful word -
überdimensioniert - which describes perfectly many of the solutions
that are available at the moment, fine though they are per se.

so what do you think of a poll something like the following: how often
do you use your modular rig on stage ? 1. never, 2. seldom, 3.
sometimes, 4. that's what i bought it for.
a simpler version might be: is space an issue for you ?

it would interest me, anyway :)
