As far as i see, the only trick is, that Fricke does not have to do the complicated temperature compensation in the analog exponentiator, but can do it in the digital domain. The oscillator itself is analogue. I own the OSC-01 and there is not much difference against the sound of the A110. And it is much more stabile and has a very wide range of clean octave tracking.
