Yes, it is perfect for that application, and it sounds great :-)

The OSC-01 is a triple analog oscillator, it's just digitally  
stabilised so it stays in tune.
Think of the Roland Juno 106.

BTW these MFB modules have horizontally mounted PCB's so can
fit into VERY shallow racks...
