I agree it does matter.
And I agree also that the Doepfer casings (and modules) are not like,  
ehm, the most beautiful objects in modular-land, but at least they're  
practical (for gigging) and rather well thought-out... Then again, are  
you prepared to shell out $25K for a Buchla ?
FWIW, I find the Plan B sloped casing rather repulsive as a meek  
wannabe Buchla/Serge makeover. Not that there's anything wrong with  
their gear, mind you. It's just not beautiful either (which can be  
said for most Euro gear, I think). All a matter of cost vs.  
functionality vs. style...
