Re: Shepard tone/Barberpole effect

2008-04-11 by bellenger_a

So yes... what I get is that it takes a lot of modules, big patch... 8
oscillators+filters+VCA...

OK...

Now I know a little bit more, thanks for all yr answers...

I'll stick to my patches of the moment and am very happy with my monster base
prototype which arrived two days ago, works very good with the two little suitcases on
top...

maybe I post some pics, no?

Best,

Alexandre

only have four at the moment) The effect is pretty interesting, but I quickly realised that
one would need 8 oscillators or filters to get a really solid effect, I am building some CGS
VCO's, and once these are finished I'll be able to try out some other ideas. (I tried it with
four osc 90 degrees apart, and also all at 45 degrees apart so I could examine a 'part' of
the effect)

the sawtooth/triangle - especially with voltage control of these processes - to generate an
ensemble effect with parts 'rising' or 'falling' in and out of it. The need to have 8 of
everything does take its toll though!
