yeah, i have a Centris 650, 2 Quad 950s, 16 channels of old Pro Tools, various Digidesign cards, old software, a Mirage keyboard, various other synth stuff stacked around ...i have no need for it, i just have to set it outside the night before garbage day and it will be gone in an hour, can't get myself to do it...maybe free Craigslist would be a better option... i just stick to my Eurorack, Emu X2, a Micro Mod, and Sonar these days... i think it's time to clean up around here as well :) ----- Original Message ---- From: James Husted <the_ersatz_planet@mac.com> To: Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2008 12:37:16 AM Subject: Re: [Doepfer_a100] Messy Studios... I actually use the Mirages all the time. A piano Mirage sound mixed with a Wavestation is the main sound I use. Also Mellotron-like string sounds. Now the Macs are another story. I have some seldom used software on some of them (Max for instance) and lots of old graphics programs (I'm a graphic designer in the real world) but most just are there cause they have something on them that must run on a older OS or different hardware. Some of them fall squarely in the "door stop vintage" category. I don't know if you can see the 4 Apple IIcx computers stacked behind the one rack, true candidates. There is also an Atari with Dr T's omega software in a pile somewhere down there. The trouble is you can't throw that stuff away noadays - you have to pay to get rid of it. And it does still work. Someday they will be free on Craigslist I suppose... -James On Jul 22, 2008, at 8:27 PM, Ross Goniakowski wrote: > my studio ain't a whole lot better, but i decided to not have every > crappy Mac or Mirage i've ever owned actually set up haha...you have > a lot of great gear, but some of it might be considered "door stop > vintage"... > but i repeate: my studio ain't a whole lot better... > > > ----- Original Message ---- > From: James Husted <the_ersatz_planet@ mac.com> > To: Doepfer_a100@ yahoogroups. com > Sent: Tuesday, July 22, 2008 12:14:28 AM > Subject: [Doepfer_a100] Messy Studios... > > > I have recently been trolling the photo section of the list and > noticed how much more tidy everyone's studios seem.
