Custom Modules - Freq Counter, BPM Counter, Audio Storage

Has anyone incorporated a Frequency counter and/or a BPM counter into
their modular? How about an audio library (I currently use a CD player)
to feed the A112, ASys Sampler, Tyme Sefari, etc.. Would like to realize
this system with little or no periphereals.
