yesterday i was thinking about this word 'universal AD/DA module' 
because it sounds so intriguing. i dreamed up someting that's a bit 
different from your current concept. i'll share my thoughts with you but 
please don't take it too serious, it's just a little mental excercise

i was thinking about a hardware interface between the a-100 modular 
concept and the vst plugin concept. either a 19'' rack or a module with 
several configurable audio, cv and gate/trigger i/o's and a usb port to 
connect to a computer.

then some software to upload vst plugins and set up connections between 
the vst controls and the hardware i/o's. i was thinking of something 
like a matrix to set up those connections. i think that could be cool if 
it's possible to keep it simple. but i'm not sure that something in this 
direction would be practical

anyway.. i'm really looking forward to the new digital module!
