Hi everyone, a modular can be broken down into basically into 4
groups.

#1) Audio Sources ( Oscillators, Filters, and Outside Audio)

#2) Audio Processors ( Filters, Equalizers, Frequency and Phase
                       Shifters, Waveshapers, Wave Multipliers
                       and Delays etc.)

#3) Control Processors (Mixers, Panners, Scaling Processors, Scaling
                        Buffers, Detectors and Amplifiers etc.

#4) Control Voltage Generators & Modifiers
( Comparators, Schmitt Triggers,Logic modules, Pulse
Dividers,Transient Generators, Lfo's, Random and Noise
Sources, Quantizers, Switches, Keyboards and Sequencers etc.

What are the Regelwerk and the Schaltwerk? They are Computer
Controlled Voltage Generators. This falls into group # 4.
simple and plain. They are Computer Controlled Voltage Generators
which create sequences of Control Voltages and Gates to control other
modules in a Modular Synthesizer specifically designed with the A100
in mind. If not it would someone else's name tag on it.

They don't fit in the A100 Case, but none the less, they have the
same Voltage ranges as the A100. They match the livery of the A100.
They are made by Doepfer, makers of the A100. They could not fit into
an A100 case, so they made them rackmountable just like the A100.
Look into the files section at the "Big Doepfer Rig".

Now how can anyone tell me the MAQ and the Schaltwerk were ment for
other Systems but the A100. The Schaltwerk existed before any of
these new filters and other modules. It must have had some Importance
to Doepfer to have released it in the first place. You don't release
something for Good Times' sake. You release something so it has a
function, which is in this case the generation of Control Voltages
for Voltage Controllable Systems, i.e the A100 among other machines
out there in the world. So if it's missing a few Key functions and a
couple of bugs that paid customers want to have Fixed and
Implemented, good business suggests that you take heed to your
customers wishes.

The problem is not with the outside of the box , but the inside. Sure
they might want to forget about it and do new filters but the fact is
it needs a little revamp and upgrade to bring it to its logical
conclusion. By doing so you will be helping Doepfer regain a new
found Positive PR Image and a bunch of happy customers who can go on
using there machines more creatively.

The preceding statements are pretty self- explanatory, the subject of
the Schaltwerk Is On Topic with the A100 Modular Synthesizer. I agree
that Schaltwerk requests should go to the Schaltwerk Group, BUT DON'T
EVER THINK IT IS NOT AN EXTENSION OF THE A1OO. To do so would be like
wearing blinders. I hope people see the benefits of a well
functioning would do their Analog Modular Set Ups.

My 2c. on the matter,
RM
