Re: [Doepfer_a100] OT. different systems

2001-11-21 by david.salter@reuters.com

Hi Ian,

Analogue Systems are their own distributor in the UK. They are a UK company.

I own a number of RS Integrator modules that work with my Doepfer.

The two VCO's are very nice and have features not available on the A110, i.e wave shaping on all waveforms. The envelope and VCA are pretty standard although again slightly different. Comb filter and Reverb chorus are interesting and the VCLFO is very nice.

The modules are wider than their A100 equivilents, so a bit more finger space. Excellent build quality as well.

I am a strong believer in mixing manafacturers, although not an issue with A100 and & RS integrator (or Analogue Solutions - Concussor) because they share the same panel size or can be a pain.

Your right that the PSU ribbon cables are different but they will supply an A100 compatible cable if you ask.

The Concussor synth modules are also worth a look.

Hi,
I've been trying to get up to speed with this modular stuff and found a rival manufacturer. Can anyone tell me how the "Analogue Systems" (Intergrator) compares? the prices seem about the same (but I see there is no distributer in the UK?) and as far as I can make out modules from both can be mixed in the same rack (with a power supply mod). As far as I can see the mini systems from Doepfer have the benefit of a MIDI interface though. Any more info I need?
Ian
