The weight and costs of the individual racks is listed below.

These weights have been rounded up a bit so adding units may result in a
lower figure than initially calculated although we also have to factor in
packaging costs. The maximum weight allowable through this provider is 20kg
although there is also a maximum carton size which I have to consider. No
simple formula that will guarantee to work so we need to take each order on
its merits.

PS my scales only go up to 2kg after which I have to resort to the 'less
accurate' bathroom scales until I get to the dispatch centre where it gets
weighed accurately.


With regards shipping, my service provider works in multiples of 1kg with a
break point (for some reason) at 2kg above which the scale changes.
Thus shipping costs to the US/Canada are:

4kg @ AUD$78.28
5kg @ AUD$92.70
6kg @ AUD$107.12

These prices are for regular air-mail. Insurance and Courier are extra.

The Elby Designs power supply is, probably, better sized for a 3U or 6U rack
allowing for a typical range of modules. Powering more than 1 rack requires
adding a set of extension cables and, technically, each separate rack should
be fed from the one supply directly, rather than daisy-chaining them. This
requires some modification to the main rack and power supply in regards
adding the extra power cables and connectors to allow the racks to be
plugged and unplugged. Although adding a psu to each rack is more expensive
than adding extension power cables etc, it does offer greater flexibility in
that you can take any permutation of racks with you and don't have to always
have the main rack to provide the power connector(s). This also means you
have much greater flexibility in determining (and then moving) modules
between the various racks as your needs change.

The shopping cart will let you view in most major currencies but the payment 
must be made in Australian Dollars otherwise I will need to charge a fee to 
cover conversion rates etc.
