also, what i found especially pleasing, is the 'resistance' of the knobs' movement. the knobs provide a good resistance, so you can make minute changes and your fingers cannot accidentally move the knob a lot, resulting in an unwanted rougher sound change...
i am putting the force i want and move the knob in the exact wanted position, not further away.

while i use a p6 and a homemade case instead of the p9, i agree that the  

doepfer modules are very robust. i never have a problem with them when moved 

for  a performance (while nothing compared to a real working musician, as a 

crazy  electro-noise hobbyist, i did 12 live performances and 2 lecture / 

demo`s, each  in a different place, in 2009 so the gear does get dragged out 

of the house  on a regular basis).
