Well, I still think it depends on Doepfer if and how polyphonic control could be arranged. I have read the thread you mentioned and it is totally making sense but still I think the extra expense would be worth it. I am curious about Dieters thoughts about this...

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
