Hello Martin, For changing the width of a pulse I use a hardware solution. The A162 dual pulse delay has a second function in which you can adjust the pulse width. The delay time can be set to zero thereby making it useful for your problem too I guess. It's a slightly costly solution to your problem but it will work.
