Thanks Dieter, and also Florian for the explanation. I'll have a look again at the A-100 manual, but encountered "resp." very often when I read it, and will let you know where the term occurs. I'll also read the manual with the understanding that "resp." should be read as 'respectively' but placed in a postition which is gramatically correct for english. Sorry, I didn't mean to make such a big thing of it, but felt that not knowing what "resp." meant was hampering my understanding of the A-100 manual and, therefore, my ability to use the modules.
