Doepfer

Hi! I recently bought a small starting system containing: A-190-2, A-110, A-106-5, A-140, A-145 and A-130. All is good, but I can't get the adsr to work, I get no gate. I've tried to find examples on the net but none of them includes the A-130 VCA. I've tried with the gate/CV jumpers on and also without them using patch cables. Probably i'm doing something wrong. This is my first attempt on modular synthesis except a Korg MS-20 some years ago. I have been loving synthesizer for 30 years and have had several classic analogues, but now I just feel stupid. 
Can someone please give me a basic patch example/standard Synthesizer patch, so that i can make the adsr and gate working. And be sure of nothing is broken.
