Is my A-118 malfunctioning?

I was looking at the output of the random output from the A-118 noise 
module on an oscilloscope as I noticed that turningthe "red pot" had 
an effect on the waveform. Is this supposed to happen? -I thought 
that the random out was independent from the other two outs.
