Re: [Doepfer_a100] A113

2015-11-25 by David Kellett

Looking at the oscilloscope some more - I think the A113 are maybe not as loud and not as sharp edged as other oscillators. The slope seems to be slightly "bendy" and the rise is maybe very slightly less fast.

I guess my idea is not going to work quite as I had envisaged. I had hoped to get quite pure sines from the A113 single outs going through the FM Aids and then using them to Phase distort the WMD PDO's 3 channels. The basic frequency of the PDO being a chef with division 24 on the A113 and then all the sines therefore being whole number ratio multiples of the base frequency - so 18 being a 4:3 ratio and 16 being 2:3 (a perfect fifth) - and also being in phase.

I have rather an amazing drone going on here anyhow with the "not so siney sines modulating the PDO and themselves being self modulated and folded with all amounts being slowly modulated by LFOs. Lots of weird harmonics drifting around.

I'm putting them into FM Aids to convert to sine waves for a special application but the FM Aids do not seem to be doing this as expected. FM Aids work very well changing A110 Saws to Sines (also Rubicons, Z3000s). So I'm wondering what is different about the A113 outs.
