a bit off topic i guess, but i thought this the best place to ask...

problem:

i want to generate two gate (trigger) signals on two outputs (11 and 12)
that both use the same midi channel (12) but on different notes (say c3 for
output 11 and c3# for output 12)

im setting the midi channel, then from and to notes to c3,c3 and c#3,c#3
respectivly.  trigger mode: direct, and then routing the trigger back to
whatever output im editing.

i cant seem to sepperate the outputs to respond individually, they both
respond to any signal on midi channel12

can someone who knows the unit better then me give me some advice please?
im convinced it must be possible, i just cant work out how.
