If it is a 'pretty standard A100 2 oscillator system' then I would 
expect two things - we'd hear of this problem more often, and more 
people would have said they've seen it too. Thus my guess is some 
sort of problem. I'm guessing you have a single G6 case (2 rows of 
modules), completely filled up? Have you tried adding up all the 
current consumption values to see how close to 650mA you get? Have 
you tried running the system without the most power-hungry module 
connected? I might be able to come up with a few more ideas, but a 
complete list of your modules would sure help! (E.g. the bottom-most 
PCB on my A-127 has a strip of insulation tape on it to ensure it 
won't short to the case in anyway, it's that close!)
