Yes, new era.  The PSIM-1 fits in a single 2U wide frac rack module for
under $300.  For that you get four (4) programmable ANALOG INPUTS and four
(4) programmable 1V/Octave ANALOG OUTPUTS!  Also, all the code developed
will be "Public Domain" and freely downloadable from the Web site.  Want a
QUAD Sample and Hold?  Download the code and that's what you've got.  Need a
QUAD Quantizer?  No problem.  Just download the code and the module is now a
QUAD Quantizer.  Sequencer?  Event generator?  That's only the beginning.
See... the module *itself* is programmable to be different modules.  That's
the "new era".  Hybrid?  Yes.  Analog INs and OUTs?  Yep.

Seriously, check it out.  Listen to the samples.  Begin to get an idea of
the capabilities.  Before you dismiss it as simply a "computer controlled
module"... or a "computer interface to existing modules"... remember, the
computer is built-in and the module itself is *programmable*.  It can be
MANY different modules depending on what code you download to it.  It's that
simple.
