As you know, i have also been working on the skb route.

Ill just update you on what ive been up to:

The deepest module that i have here is the a112 sampler module.  Most
modules are a lot shallower.

I took my schroff sidepannels to the machineist yesterday to be (accuratly)
cut down to size.  Also making up some backplates that i will rivet on to
the sides (with the help of right angle strip).

Back are a necisity to mount the bus boards on.

Now i shall see when its all assembled, but there may not be enough space to
have both the a112 and the busboard behind.  If it looks like its going to
be too much of a squeeze then ill just make shorter busboards, and use
longer cables to the modules, so as i can make sure that there are only the
shallower modules mounted in front of the busboards.  (my busses will be
homemade also, so i can choose the length at will)

I shall be mounting the PSU externally anyway (this was always my intention,
as sometimes i will be using a linear psu, and other times a couple of
sealed lead acid cells)

If you need to mount the psu internally then this will block your ability to
mount - possibly all, but definatly some - modules in front of it.  I would
assume that youll be fitting an IEC (or whaever theyre called - kettle lead
type) connector for front power connection?  In which case, you could just
have a blank made up to cover the psu area anyway, and mount the power
connector onto this?

Basicaly, in answer to your question as to if itll work: i sinceerly hope
so!  It will with my modules (unless ive made a nasty error) but if someone
could still mention if there are deeper modules then the a112, itlld be
appreciated.

One final point.  Not what id like to do, but, if theres only milimeteres
stopping you, then putting a set of washers between the subrack ears and the
rack strips will gain you deapth.  The skb lid is deep enough to accomidate
some of this, but...

As i say, im picking up the sides / backs from the machineist on tuesday.
