Doepfer

Thanks, Tim. That thread was very helpful.  Seems like there were 
two problems discussed:  Cases built in 1998 and before with EMC 
filters that occassionaly melt after 5 years of service or so.  This 
was the problem that started the thread.  Then there was at least 
one person who had a transformer melt, and the explanation was that 
it was just a dodgy transformer.  

My problem is more like the second one, since I have no EMC filter 
and the gooey stuff came out of the transformer itself.  The power 
supply is only about 8 months old. I wonder how long the warranty 
is. Probably doesn't matter, since I have probably voided it 
anyway.  M biggest concern is that it doesn't happen again.
