Re: Audio Samples: My VCO

2004-06-22 by shm1400

Very nice sounds, Peter. There seems to be a very different quality
to the upper harmonics coming out of this oscilator than anything
that I have now. Although it has been a few years since I worked
with them, it seems to me that the 258s also had this same quality
to the upper harmonics, a sort of smooth "fizzy" quality that is
somehow less harsh than other oscilators. (I don't know a better way
to describe this).

It sounds from your description like you have significantly improved
on the old 258s, since a single oscilator can make both square and
sawtooth waves. Much more sensible than wasting half of an
oscilator pair when you only want saws. I would really like to hear
the timbre modulation on your oscilators. Would it be possible for
you to post some mp3s when you get a chance? Thanks.
