Re: I did not notice this poll - I actually need basic dual attenuator

2004-06-23 by selfoscillate

hello zoran,

if you want to attenuate audiosignals, you should take a look
at the a133 dual polarizer. i know it is not that basic, but
actually it is one of the modules i use very often (especially
for waveshaping). it is only 8 te wide and you can also buy
it with an amplification of 1, so it can be easily used as
attenuator, vca or inverter. i know that a basic attenuator
would be cheaper (not smaller), but the extra-functionality
of the a133 comes in quite handy. using one vco/lfo with
the a133 (one waveform into signal input, another waveform
from the same vco/lfo into the cv input) you can create new
waveforms. with the standard a133 you can also amplify your
envelope generator outputs to fit the +10v range of other modulars,
or changing the slope of the envelope into a more or less
exponential curve. there are a thousand purposes for this module.
at first i was a bit disappointed by the a133, but now i love it.
by now i'd call it one of the essential modules in the doepfer range.

best wishes

ingo
