Yeah, well I guess that's where you end up when you've gathered a a bunch of modules and know from experience where your system lacks.. hopefully that'll be the truth for me as well in time. Right now, for me, it's more that I want an as open as can be solution with as many doors as possibel left open since my real life experience (apart from sitting around with my nord modular for five years) on modulars is a bit limited.. But I was looking at the MOTM system as well as certain Analogue Solution stuff as well, but they're both (according to my reading at least) sort of dead ends when it comes to combining modules inside racks of different brands. It's always nice to know the possibility is there and the connection between Doepfer and AS seem to be so established. So anyway, would you concider the AS VCOs and VCFs superior to Doepfer's? I know this is one of the most subjective areas, hard to say before you can actually hear them side by side... (guess its like the mac/pc discussion or whatever) but neverthless I have heard much good bout the AS filters, being meaty and well sorted in the lower frequencies especially, though some mean they overdrive to easily.. /Anders >From: bdu@fdiskc.com >Reply-To: Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com >To: Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com >Subject: Re: [Doepfer_a100] Re: Integrator or Doepfer >Date: Thu, 19 Aug 2004 11:36:01 -0700 (PDT) > >My preference thus far has been to get both. > >My ASys modules primarily take care of the bread and butter modules (Oscs, >MMFilters, EGs, LFOs, VCAs) while my doepfer/3rd party stuff is doing >cv/control like sequencing, logic switching, pattern generating, etc. > >Though I'll soon be blurring the line, I've got two PlanB Model12 VCOs on >preorder, and I'll likely pick up a couple of Doepfer A101-2 LPGs and >A143-1 AD EGs to go with them for a mini buchla-ish system in a doepfer >rack. > >-Brandon _________________________________________________________________ Chatt: Träffa nya nätkompisar på Habbo Hotel http://habbohotel.msn.se/habbo/sv/channelizer
